Congratulations Norway!

Congratulations to Norway for defending the prestigious winning title in this year's Putt-Putt Golf Tournament. Team Sweden showed up with a solid team of players but it was not enough to beat the strong Norwegians. Thank you to everyone that came out and played and thank you NACC-Seattle for hosting a great event! We are looking forward to a rematch next year.

Young Professionals Happy Hour

Thank you to everyone that came to our first Young Professionals event at Optimism Brewing Company on Wednesday May, 22. It was such a pleasure to meet you all! Great thoughts were shared and connection made. We are already looking forward to the next one.

Team Sweden Meeting

Last Friday SACC-Seattle had the pleasure to attend a great Team Sweden meeting hosted by the Swedish Consulate in Seattle at it's new location in Redmond.

We were accompanied by Cecilia Lif from the Swedish Embassy, Johan Marcus from SACC-USA and new Honorary Swedish Consul Petra Hilleberg. If you have ideas on what you would like to see from the consulate, SACC-Seattle or other thoughts you would like to share on the Team Sweden concept of collaboration, please let us know at info@sacc-seattle.org.

Small Business Entrepreneur Event with panel speakers

On April 10th we hosted a great panel discussion focused on Entrepreneurship and Small Businesses in the Pacific Northwest. Thank you to all of our guests and our inspiring panelists Kristiina Hiukka, Martin Lundgren and Monica Langfeldt for sharing your experiences and take-aways as Nordic business owners. Special thanks to our moderator Petra Hilleberg and to the Swedish Club.

SACC-Seattle Annual Meeting 2019

Thank you to all our members and some new faces that joined us yesterday evening for SACC-Seattle’s annual meeting. We had the pleasure to be hosted by the impressive Nordic Museum and got a tour of their new exhibition “The Vikings Begin” before the meeting started.

The board presented results for 2018, and formally elected the 2019 board of directors. In 2019, Rebecka Churchill, our former Marketing Director, will serve as President and Martin Lundgren, our former President, will serve as Vice President. Rikard Lind, Tor Jernudd, Magnus Danielsson and Anna Assarsson will continue serving on the board, while Petra Hilleberg and Tina Bergman are stepping down to focus on new opportunities. Thank you, Petra and Tina, for you fantastic work with SACC-Seattle over many years.

We are also excited to welcome three new members to the board of 2019; Beshir Abdella, Charlotte Brekkan and Jacob Häger.

Stay tuned for further presentations of them!

The new Nordic Museum is open!

What a spectacular time we had last week, celebrating the Grand Opening of the new Nordic Museum here in Seattle! Highlights included the highly anticipated Nordic Innovation Days, including a well-attended Innovation Conference on May 3rd and an exclusive Tech Tour on May 4th, which paid visits to local tech giants such as Amazon and Microsoft. We were also very happy to be present for the ribbon cutting ceremony on May 5th, attended by H.R.H. Crown Princess Mary of Denmark, President Guðni Th. Jóhannesson of Iceland, and H.E. Karin Olofsdotter, Ambassador of Sweden to the United States. Big congrats to our long-standing members and friends at the Nordic Museum!
