Braden Penhoet, is a Senior Managing Attorney at DLA Piper, LLP, a global law firm with, as it happens, a greater presence in Sweden and the Nordic countries than any other comparable enterprise. His grandfather was a Swedish Finn, born in Vaasa and an early 20th century immigrant, working initially in the redwood forests of Northern California with his brothers, before making his way as a business owner.
After several years of deeply appreciating SACC-Seattle and the wider community it represents, I – along with several other terrific new faces – joined the Board this February. I was then excited to be elected your new President, taking the reins from our well-loved past president Rebecka Churchill. I am thrilled to work with you to keep SACC-Seattle an essential resource for the Swedish-American community in the Seattle area, and promote new and stronger bonds among our region, the other SACC’s, and partners across Sweden.
